Visited four little libraries in Sanford, FL in need of books! I was able to fill and tidy up all of them. A very satisfying day to be able to fill-up very active libraries with books. Several people came by to ask what I was doing, and was able to talk about LFL and inspire them to explore the free books.

This was a very rewarding volunteer experience. One of the highlights was visiting a local business with a Little Free Library that was completely out of books. I was able to restock the entire library, which gave me an immediate sense that my time and efforts were making a positive impact in the community.

This experience also showed me how helpful it would be to have more detailed information about each library in the app. Volunteers could better prepare if locations were marked as missing, under repair, low on books, or in need of specific types of books. For example, I have found several libraries with few or no children’s books, while another location specifically requested books for adults 55+. That information was extremely helpful because it allowed volunteers to provide books that better matched the community’s needs.

Overall, I really enjoyed the experience and would volunteer again. Improving the accuracy of library statuses and allowing locations to communicate their specific book needs could make the experience even more organized, efficient, and impactful for both volunteers and the communities they serve.
