Distribute books to Little Free Libraries near you

Distributed books in Sanford, FL and Orlando, FL. Every library visited was practically empty, so I was able to fill all of them up!

Stopped at 3 libraries on my way home from work.

My daughter and I went to a library book sale and bought 5 bags of books of all types for $5 and went to fill 4 libraries in Northumberland. There are two that are registered and 2 that are not. We also visited one in lancaster, NH on our way home and filled it up the the remaining books. We litteraly had just enough books ro fill all of the libraries we visited. 100 books are now available to our community!

Good morning! This is Michael MCClain, Team LFL Volunteer. I enjoy participating with the Little Free Library volunteer opportunity: Distribute books to LFL’s near me category. I am hoping to start a book drive eventually. I recently rode public transportation to the Frank Deluca YMCA located at 3200 SE 17th ST, Ocala, FL 34471 to distribute books to the LFL located there. The LFL located at this YMCA is Charter# 47408.

I distributed books that I collected by purchasing a Book Bundle of Elementary to Young Adult Books from the LFL website. I also purchased books from the Target store and Barnes & Noble stores located in Ocala, FL.

The five books that I distributed this week were:

1. “National Geographic Kids: Roar!”
2. “National Geographic Kids: Woof!”
3. “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Diaper Overlode”
4. “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Big Shot”
5. “Willa and the Whale”

The Little Free Library located at this YMCA is a Girl Scout Silver Award Project that is intended to improve literacy in Marion County, Florida. The thing that I enjoyed the most about this volunteer was the opportunity to inspire young readers by sharing quality books with them. This was approximately my 47th visit to this LFL box.

The box was clean and organized and in good repair.

This volunteer opportunity lasted for 3.5 hrs to include riding public transportation to the YMCA.

I look forward to visiting this box again next week.

We found some rural libraries which were well stocked and maintained. We traded and added to them. We found a few in rough shape and added needed repairs. We also found some very interesting shapes and sizes. We gave out our 800th book.
