Youth Volunteers: Put books in Little Free Libraries in your community

Benji was thrilled when we saw this LFL at the church by the park we visited. After a game of soccer and racing and running, when getting to our vehicle, he spotted this one. Luckily, we carry books in the car and so we donated and organized this one before leaving the park.

Please ignore if duplicated - unclear if entry went thru.

We gathered books to distribute, found some libraries we had not been to and spent a couple of hours locating them, distributing to them, met a couple of owners to hear the origin stories if their boxes and left books in each one we visited. Benji also enjoys leaving a small toy now in each box to help attract more kid readers.

The week prior, we located a large LFL that was also a pantry at a nearby church on the way to school. Benji saw it from the street, described it as a double double. We stopped by to check it out. It was not registered online. It had a sign that seemed to be asking for help in stocking it. Mom called the number to inquire and was told they had trouble keeping it full. Benji wanted to try to fill it up with their requested items. The LFL was also a pantry that provided food for others. We gathered books and dropped them off to discover it was going to take more work on our end. So we committed to gathering more items and returning

Today we gathered pantry items and more books -about 22. We delivered and organized them in the pantry /library. This one is in a high need area and we anticipate we will continue to help this location regularly.

Drove to a LFL and stopped to deliver books. As we Benji and mom drove to an LFL on the map to leave some books. As we left, we came across another library at a local school (unregistered library) and were able to place books in it. We happened to pass two more unexpectedly but did not have enough books in hand to share. Will stop by those another day.

I left some books at the little library and it was by my martial arts. We saw two dogs. One was passing and one was barking from his house.
