Collecting book donations to stock little free libraries felt like sharing knowledge and growing community connection. It wasn't just about gathering physical books; it was about cultivating a love for reading and fostering a sense of shared resourcefulness. I love promoting literacy and accessibility, I always had a passion for reading and as I grew older and learned of the struggles that some people and communities have in regards to access to books I knew I wanted to help change that.
I hope to be able to do this work monthly with the Pima County Friends of the Library and their community donation days.
Sometimes I see little libraries full of unreadible books, neglected and dirty libraries. I like to know that organizing and cleaning them up makes people more interested in them and adding new books so that people can read things in good condition.
Being a LFL volunteer and being able to help my community is rewarding in so many ways.
