I go out with a tote full of books and visit the LFLs in a certain neighborhood of town. While sometimes I can add a book or five, oftentimes I'm fronting the display to make sure the books are visible, in good condition, and that there aren't too many in one location.
There are a lot of older LFL in my community that don't show up in the app, and those are the ones I enjoy servicing most.
I started with 46 books, visited 10 little libraries. A lot were near to empty.
I spent 3 hours in total going to thrift store, looking among different bookshelves to pick a variety if topics that might serve a larger group of people rather than one. So I tried to collect different categories of books like history, religion, novel, cook, parenting etc.
Then I went to a sharing box and put the books there.The only challenge was commuting as I I do not have a veichle so it took me a little bit more time but overall it was a great experience and I will be volunteering more!
I have also attached a screenshot of my credit card payment to the thrift store as I forgot to get the receipt but I’ll keep that in mind for future contributions.
